Panic anxiety attacks can be frightening. The person feels such a high level of anxiety that he or she loses control. Having panic attacks does influence life in a negative way. It’s not fully understood why this happens to certain individuals. However, this is a disorder that is treatable. If you suspect you may be suffering from anxiety attacks then it is important you seek help. The sooner you do the sooner you can start treatment that will minimize or cure you of the attacks. Those who suffer from these attacks know that feelings of anxiety suddenly sweep over them without any warning. This can be so severe it turns into panic. For the people around them, these attacks are frightening. The sufferer can have palpitations, extremely fast breathing or being unable to breathe. Even though bystanders may feel helpless it’s important to remain calm and speak to the person under attack in a calm manner.
It has been well documented that if panic anxiety attacks are ignored and left untreated other problems will manifest. Many people have experienced a panic attack only once in their lives. However, if attacks occur repeatedly then it has to be dealt with. It is also fairly common for sufferers of panic attacks to also be diagnosed with depression as well as social phobias. For this reason it is very helpful to try to figure out why the attacks occur. For example, they could occur when a person is in a certain environment. Having to socialize could trigger the anxiety that turns to panic. If this is the case, it is highly likely the person will stop socializing and prefer to stay at home. Becoming a recluse is not the way to deal with the problem. All of us do need interaction with family and friends. Panic anxiety attacks should not prevent from us from normal living.
